LJ elections [30 May 2008|10:53pm] [ mood | hopeful ] I've been missing out on so much around here, it's hard to even call myself an LJer... Anyhow, via soldurios I learned that there were LJ elections to select a user to sit on the board and represent us all (you can read A's considerations here). Whooray, eh? And what's even better, the winner is legomymalfoy, whom I've personally never spoken to, but know to be an active fandom member - I've seen her around a lot in many different comms. Apparently, she suffered death threats during her time as a candidate. She wisely retreated for a breath, but returned and was elected. I don't think that her new attributions will be easy to deal with, but let us hope that LJ really means something by this initiative of having a User Representative on the board. Maybe they're willing to try and lessen the bullshitting of users. *hopes* 3 joined Blizzard * poodles! * E

gods, I hate LJ. [21 Mar 2008|11:21pm] [ mood | pissed off ] I hate livejournal I wish I could quit it, but it's the only way to keep in touch with some of the people I care about, and to indulge in the fandomishness that is so important to me. Still, all of it is so wrong. That absurd witch-hunt of last year, and now this ridiculous decision of not offering Basic accounts to those who want to start blogging here. What if tomorrow they decide that all basic accounts will be automatically switched to plus? Why the fuck don't they ever consult their users before taking decisions as drastic as this, ON A BLOODY USER-GENERATED CONTET WEBSITE?! Don't they realise that they're absolutely nothing without the people here? I wish fandom could unite and move out of here. They're so absolutely full of shit and completely disrespectful towards their users. It's a pity one can't sue somebody for being a complete asshole. LJ/6A's tactlessness strike again [07 Aug 2007|10:34pm] [ mood | enraged ] Urgent update: skimming through my f-list, I learned that LJ and 6A have screwed up yet again. After a lot of swearing, I've gathered my wits and a few useful links for anyone who's also annoyed shitless with this mess: killthwight's post detailing the new fuck-up, complete with the story and many links. What is useful during this transfer? Back-up and transfer tools. I come bearing teh link (haven't tried it yet, but I've heart it's painless). Also, to those who have moved to IJ: It's been such a relief to find many familiar faces there! sm_malfoys has had a brilliant idea: she's created a community to help us find other HP members, since the fandom is scattered. It's called finding_hp. Another nice comm I've stumbled upon is 07refugees, for everyone who left because of the Strikethrough. It's nice to scan the members for known usernames. ^_^ Note: I've just checked fandom_counts, and it has over 35,200 members. ...it'd be sad, if it weren't so infuriating.
